Get your
paperwork
together early
Paperwork may not be the most
exciting part of selling a property,
but 昀椀nding documents early can save
valuable time later.
GOV.UK recommends getting relevant
paperwork together before putting
your home on the market. Depending
on the property, this could include title
information, an Energy Performance
Certi昀椀cate, planning permissions,
building regulation certi昀椀cates,
guarantees, warranties, surveys and
relevant certi昀椀cates.
If your property is leasehold, there
may also be additional information to
obtain.
It is also sensible to speak to a solicitor
or conveyancer early. Having your legal
arrangements underway before you
昀椀nd a buyer can help reduce avoidable
delays later in the process.
The earlier you 昀椀nd the paperwork,
the less likely it is to become a lastminute problem.
