Agents. Between them, Mike Healey and
Doug Paterson celebrate an extraordinary
90 years in estate agency, with Mike
reaching his 50th year in the profession and
Doug his 40th. For generations of families
across New Eltham and the wider SE9 area,
Chattertons has been far more than a name
above a shopfront. Since 1893, the business
has helped local people through one of
life's biggest decisions, buying and selling
their homes. Mike and Doug have become a
central part of that story.

throughout their careers.
Mike Healey
Five Decades of Local Knowledge
Mike began his estate agency career in 1976
before acquiring Chattertons in 1981 and
continuing its proud tradition of serving
the local community. Across fifty years,
he has experienced every type of market
imaginable, from housing booms and
economic downturns to changing interest
rates and evolving buyer priorities. While
the tools have changed, Mike believes
the qualities clients value most have not.
People want reassurance. They want
honest advice. They want someone who
understands not only the market, but the
neighbourhoods, schools, transport links
and communities that make an area feel
like home. That local understanding has
seen generations of families return to
Chattertons, often recommending Mike
to children, friends and neighbours many
years after their own move.
