A
s October begins, there are
encouraging signs across London’s
property market. Fresh buyer
interest is returning after the summer,
official data has recorded a monthly rise in
average London house prices, and the
rental sector continues to deliver record
advertised rents. For sellers and landlords
alike, the capital is entering the final
quarter of 2026 with several positive
indicators worth watching.
BUYER INTEREST RETURNS FOR
AUTUMN
One of the most welcome developments
is the return of buyers to the market as
summer gives way to autumn. Zoopla
reported in late August that searches for
homes were 7% higher than a year earlier,
the strongest annual increase for 12
months. Importantly, searches were up
across every region and country of the UK
for the first time since August 2025,
suggesting a broad return of moving
intentions.
For London sellers, renewed search activity
creates a stronger platform for well
presented, sensibly marketed homes as
the traditional autumn selling season
gathers pace. A larger active buyer pool
means more opportunities for viewings,
offers and chains to form during one of
the key moving periods of the year.
